Makeover: A New You?

Seeing is believing; isn’t that the common wisdom? You’ll believe it when you see it. So a new you has to be seen before the makeover? Well, sort of.

What if I told you it’s the other way around? You’ll see it when you believe it. When you believe a new you is possible, a makeover can happen.

Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”

What did he mean?

Your thinking, your belief, is what determines your success in life. Ford had a vision. He believed that he could mass produce an automobile on an assembly line. He made that belief a reality while others were standing around saying, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” He created the reality because he believed he could.

Anyone can believe in something that is in material form in front of their eyes, and if you wait until you see it, you will always be in the audience, so to speak. You will never be in the creation mode, doing something that you have imagined and created.

How is the belief created, then? Ah, there is the question we need to answer. If you are lucky, you have had supportive parents, friends and teachers who believed in you and instilled that thought, so that you believe in yourself and your abilities.

If you have not had the benefit of others encouraging you, then it is up to you to find the encouragers. For deep within you the seed of creation is growing, asking to emerge.

This is why you owe it to yourself to work with a coach, in order to nurture a belief in yourself and to move forward with assurance.

Once you have the necessary belief, you will see a new you emerging.
